Willoughby Square: Recognizing the need for green space in the core of Downtown, the City's Downtown Brooklyn Plan calls for the creation of a 1.25 acre park just south of MetroTech Center. This park would serve local residents, employees and shoppers and sit atop a 700-space underground parking garage.

Willoughby Pedestrian Plaza: Conceived as a refuge for pedestrians, local students and shoppers, as well as a traffic calming measure, Willoughby Plaza, at the intersection of Willoughby and Adams Streets transformed an under-utilized and poorly functioning intersection into useful public space. Started in 2006, the City has provided capital funding to further improve the plaza.
BAM District Grand Plaza: This new plaza will be created on what is now a City-owned parking lot and will serve as a beacon for the District and a gathering place for patrons of BAM and other local cultural venues. The plaza will sit atop a 250-car garage.
Brooklyn Bridge Park: As a creative reclamation of Brooklyn’s waterfront on publicly-held land and piers, the new park will ring Downtown, stretching from DUMBO to the end of Atlantic Avenue. The wide variety of uses and unmatched view of the world’s most famous skyline will make the park one of Brooklyn’s premier attractions, and will draw visitors from throughout the City.
