This stunning depiction of Brooklyn's changing skyline is narrated by Sir Ian McKellen, the award-winning stage and screen actor known locally for his theatrical performance at the Brooklyn Academy of Music's production of King Lear. The video highlights key development projects, including new hotels, a park called Willoughby Square, dozens of new residential buildings and a new 299-seat theater in the BAM Cultural District.
Flatbush Avenue Animation
Looking north on Flatbush Avenue from the corner of DeKalb Ave., this animation shows Flatbush Ave. as a tree-lined boulevard with new residential towers and mixed-use commercial buildings along the street. Oro Condos, Toren, City Point, and other residential towers will make Downtown Brooklyn a true 24/7 residential neighborhood, and an enlivened streetscape will connect the area to surrounding communities.
Willoughby Square Animation
Looking south from Duffield St. and Willoughby St., the animation shows Willoughby Square Park, which will be the new centerpiece of a thriving mixed-use district of hotels, offices, shops, and residences just south of MetroTech Center.
