BellTel Lofts: The former Verizon building, which is a landmarked Art-Deco gem, was recently converted into 248 residential condominiums and retail space. The 27-story BellTel Lofts at 365 Bridge Street features apartments with high ceilings; many with breathtaking panoramic views and outdoor space.
110 Livingston: Designed by McKim Meade and White, 110 Livingston is a landmarked building that was formerly the Board of Education headquarters. Developed by Two Trees Management, the converted building now offers 300 meticulously planned condominiums, concierge center, and private rooftop cabanas.
The Smith: This is a 50-unit condominium project, with 93 hotel rooms (called Nu Hotel) and ground floor retail built on a former state-owned parking lot at Atlantic Avenue and Smith Street.
14 Townhouses: These newly constructed, single family town homes on State Street are designed by Rogers/Marvel Architects. Developed by Hamlin Ventures and Time Equities, these homes are modern interpretations of the classic brownstone. Nine additional townhouses will be built along State Street, with similar designs.
Schermerhorn House: Developed by Common Ground and the Actors Fund in partnership with Hamlin Ventures and Time Equities, this new building offers 217 affordable, supportive housing rental units and a community theater. The Brooklyn Ballet will have studio space in the building's ground-floor space.
State Renaissance Court: Located at Schermerhorn and Hoyt Streets, this new construction project provides 80 market-rate rental units, 80 affordable rental units and ground floor retail.
Be@Schermerhorn: This new building, located at 189 Schermerhorn St. and developed by SDS Procida, offers 246 market-rate condominiums and ground floor retail.
Oro Condos: Located at 306 Gold St., this 40-story condo tower with a glass and brick facade was designed by Ismael Leyva Architects, a nationally acclaimed firm that worked on the Time Warner Center in Manhattan. Currently on the market, Oro has a total of 303 condominium units and boasts a swimming pool, fitness center, and a basketball/squash court.
One Hanson Place: Formerly the Williamsburgh Savings Bank, this landmark building is Brooklyn's tallest, offering 189 luxuriously appointed condominium units with spectacular views of Manhattan, Brooklyn, and New York Harbor. The recently converted, full service building features high ceilings and beautifully restored architectural details.
Forte Condos: Designed by the architectural firm FXFowle, this is 30-story building in the heart of the BAM Cultural District houses 108 luxury condominiums and offers residents sweeping views of Downtown Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan.
96 Rockwell Place: Originally an old piano factory, once converted, this building will contain 37 loft-style condominiums and about 3,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Centrally situated in the BAM Cultural District, building amenities include a state of the art fitness center.
Buildings Under Construction:
Toren: Located at 150 Myrtle Ave. at the corner of Flatbush, this new 38-story condominium tower will offer 241 market-rate and affordable condos. Developed by BFC Partners and designed by the architecture firm Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill, the tower will boast a unique silver-blue aluminum and glass facade, and will be LEED-certified.
Avalon Fort Greene: Located on Flatbush Avenue across from the MetroTech Center, the 620-unit rental building is developed by AvalonBay Communities. Expected occupancy is in Fall 2009.
111 Lawrence: is a 491-unit rental building developed by the Clarett Group. Expected occupancy is in late 2009.
80 DeKalb Avenue: is a 365-unit 80/20 mixed-income rental developed by Forest City Ratner Companies. Expected occupancy is in late 2009.
219 Myrtle Avenue: is a 95-unit residential building built by the Red Apple Group. The building will have a Duane Reade and a supermarket.
