New York University's (NYU's) proposed Center for Urban Science and Progress (CUSP) represents a bold step into the future not only for NYU, but also for Brooklyn. This applied science school in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn would provide a facility for scientists and engineers to work together to solve the problems affecting cities around the world - from traffic congestion to energy efficiency. NYU CUSP would also further advance New York City's growing status as a center for creative and tech industry, and would be a key component of the emerging "tech triangle" stretching from Downtown Brooklyn to DUMBO and the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

In addition, NYU CUSP's proposed location at the former MTA headquarters at 370 Jay Street would provide new life for a building that has sat largely unused for far too long, further re-invigorating the heart of Downtown Brooklyn.

The Downtown Brooklyn Partnership and the DUMBO Improvement District have collaborated on a short video on YouTube expressing support for NYU CUSP and the many benefits that this new school would bring to Brooklyn.
