On June 24, 2011, the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership and the Fulton Mall Improvement Association celebrated the opening of the new Albee Square Public Plaza (at Bond & Fulton Streets) with a grand opening event. Cookie's Kids Department Store sponsored performances for children, along with free light refreshments and face painters. The day-long, free event also included performances by Brooklyn-based bands for all ages.
