Fulton Mall Improvement Association

About Us:
The Fulton Mall Improvement Association (FMIA) works to further the economic, cultural and commercial revitalization of Fulton Street Mall. Fulton Street Mall, which runs from Adams St. to Flatbush Avenue, is Brooklyn's shopping corridor, attracting 100,000 shoppers every day to over 200 retail businesses. Incorporated in 1976, the FMIA is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to improving the economic health and quality-of-life on the Fulton Mall.

The FMIA is managed by the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, a not-for-profit development corporation that seeks to improve and develop the greater Downtown Brooklyn community. FMIA, and two other major Downtown Brooklyn business improvement districts (BIDs), MetroTech BID and Court-Livingston-Schermerhorn BID, provide the Downtown Brooklyn community with nearly $6 million in supplementary services.

Programs & Services:
The FMIA provides supplementary sanitation, public safety, economic retail development, business and marketing services to its constituents. The FMIA was also instrumental in the City's $8 million appropriation of capital funding for the improvement and renovation of Fulton Mall. This streetscape improvement project will dramatically improve the appearance and functionality of Fulton Mall, enhancing the shopping experience for current users and attracting new ones.
