About Us:
The Court-Livingston-Schermerhorn Business Improvement District (CLS BID) began operations in October 2007 and serves nearly 200 properties in Downtown Brooklyn.  The district roughly contains Schermerhorn and Livingston Streets, stretching from Flatbush Avenue to Court Street and Court Street stretching from Atlantic Avenue to Joralemon Street

The CLS BID is managed by the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, a not-for-profit development corporation that seeks to improve and develop the greater Downtown Brooklyn community. Two other major Downtown Brooklyn BIDs, MetroTech BID and Fulton Mall Improvement Association, are also members of the Partnership. Combined, these BIDs provide the Downtown Brooklyn community with nearly $6 million in supplementary services.

Programs & Services:
The CLS BID’s programs and services are aimed at improving the local business environment and enhancing the quality of life for constituents. This is achieved through the following: supplemental sanitation, public safety, retail development, landscaping, and streetscape improvements.

Shopping:
The CLS District has over 150 stores that cater to a diverse population of residents, area employees, and visitors. Shoppers can find everything from local boutiques to national stores like Barnes & Noble in the District. If you're looking for a place to dine, we have local eateries, yogurt shops, and restaurants for all tastes. Stop by during our SIdewalk Salesdays events, which is a new initiative to promote our retailers, offer discounts, and free music to shoppers. Click on the link above to learn about our events, ValueCard discount card, retail directory, and shopping resources.

Columbus Park
At over four acres and adjacent to Brooklyn Borough Hall, Columbus Park is the gathering place for Downtown Brooklyn. Throughout the year, the park hosts free concerts, the local farmers' greenmarket, and family-friendly activities.

Publications:
The CLS BID publishes a quarterly newsletter which highlights its services and programs, and profiles local businesses in the District. Download a PDF version of our current issue of the Downtown Brooklyn Newsletter. You can also pick up a print copy from our office and from local businesses in the District.
