The area is currently home to dozens of arts organizations including Creative Outlet Dance, Museum of Contemporary African Diasporian Arts (MoCADA), the Brooklyn Music School and Urban Glass.

The Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) has grown into a thriving urban arts center that brings international performing arts and film to Brooklyn. BAM's current programming consists of the Next Wave Festival each fall; a spring season of international opera, theater, and dance; a comprehensive Education & Humanities program, and a variety of community programs.

The Irondale Center for Theater, Education, and Outreach: The Irondale Ensemble Project has had a rich, 25-year history of producing and teaching experimental theater with a strong voice for social change. Located on the corner of Lafayette Avenue and South Oxford Street, the Irondale Center for Theater, Education and Outreach opened in October 2008 in the former Sunday school space in the historic Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church. The new, 7,300 square foot space features a performance space that offers flexible seating for up to 160 people -- the first new performance space to open in the BAM Cultural District. 

St. Ann's Warehouse has been recognized for consistently inventive concert and new music/theater presentations. The Warehouse’s umbrella organization, Arts at St. Ann's, commissions and supports multi-disciplinary collaborations, and the development of new puppet theater through The Lab, which is an ongoing professional workshop led by Dan Hurlin and Theodora Skipitares.

Opening its newly renovated home in 2013, BRIC Arts | Media House will provide a platform for the development of new works in theater, dance, music and multi-disciplinary performance; as well as subsidized rehearsal, rental and performance space for non venue-based artists and arts organizations.

The Kumble Theater for the Performing Arts at Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus is a dynamic, state-of-the art performance venue serving one of the most diverse campuses and communities in the country. It is designed to nourish artistic exploration and development by students and other emerging artists while providing the entire community greater access to an exciting range of Broadway-quality, classical and cutting-edge professional performances.
